HENU Holds 2015 Commencements
In early June, 2015, HENU held 2015 commencements. HENU leaders, teacher representatives and all the graduates attended the ceremonies.
On June 5th, the 2015 HENU commencement for BA degree students was held in the Grand Auditorium Square. HENU President LOU Yuangong set straight the students’ tassels and issued the bachelor’s degree certificates to the students that awarded the title of outstanding graduates of Henan Province, and then took pictures with them.
On behalf of all the graduates, FENG Xueting expressed heartfelt thanks and highest respect to HENU. The student representative, president of HENU Student Union JIA Ning, on behalf of all the students not yet graduate, sent the most sincere blessing to the graduates. On behalf of all the teachers, dean of HENU School of Software, LI Jie congratulated the graduates.
HENU Chancellor GAUN Aihe expressed exhortations to the graduates from three aspects. One was being ambitious, and bearing in mind the May 4th tradition and the responsibility mission “with staunchly democratic way, strengthening science development” of HENU; the second was keeping the habit of lifelong learning in order to fly higher and further in the new historical period; the third was at the time of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Aiti-Fascist War, remembering the HENU history of running the university under the war of resistance against Japan for 8 years, inheriting firm and indomitable spirit, and using wisdom to solve the problems in the world today.
On June 9th, the 2015 HENU commencement for the degrees of masters and doctors was held in the Mingde Square. HENU President LOU Yuangong set straight the tassels for the recipients of doctor’s degree and overseas students’ master’s degree, issued degree certificate to them and then took pictures. University leaders, members of the academic degree evaluation committee, and tutor representatives set straight the tassels for the graduates of master’s degree, issued degree certificate to them and took pictures.
Teacher representative Prof. CHENG Suiying hoped that students can keep the awe and love, maintain the enthusiasm and faith, and regard waking up the conscience of the society and promoting social progress as a lifetime responsibility. Student representative WANG Yahan said she would not forget the edification of HENU and the responsibility of herself no matter wherever she would be.
Combined with the actual problems and future development faced by the graduates, LOU Yuangong said three thoughtful and warm sentences in his speech. One was that employment and entrepreneurship were both the way to the future, so you need not to complain. The second was that family and career were both important, so you should not only choose one. The third was the current life and the long-term development were both worthy of concern, so you should not be short-sighted. He said with deep feeling, “Your future is not dreams, but flowers that can be seen by us, and applause that can be heard by us. Henan University is looking forward to your good news! ”
