National English Speaking Competition Final Held in HENU

From March 20th to 22nd, the National Grand Finals of the 20th China Daily “21st Century·Coca Cola Cup” National English Speaking Competition and the 13th China Daily “21st Century·Lenovo Cup” National High School and Primary School English Speaking Competition were held in Henan University. After Peking University, HENU became the second university to hold this competition, and the competition was held for the first time in Henan Province.

After 3 days of fierce competition, LI Shanshan of University of Macau and WANG Zhanzhan of Shanghai YK Pao School won the champion of the university group and the high school group respectively. FU Shuning of Tsinghua University and HUANG Tianyi of Shanghai Foreign Language School won “China Daily 21st Century the Most Potential Award”, and they would fly to London, England in late May this year on behalf of Chinese students, to participate in “The International Public Speaking Competition” organized by the English-Speaking Union.

HENU students LI Kexin of School of Foreign Languages and LU Yizhi of School of Chinese Language and Literature won the second prize and the third prize respectively. LI Kexin also won “Navitas the Most Confident Speech Prize”.
